Create and chase your own story. Interview acclaimed authors, artists, academics and journalists. Learn about the dynamic U.S.-China relationship while informing and inspiring others with your work. If this sounds exciting to you, consider applying to be a writer for US-China Today! We are a student-driven magazine published by the USC U.S.-China Institute, and cover a wide range of political, economic, social and cultural trends in contemporary China through in-depth feature stories and daily news updates.
We welcome students of all majors and backgrounds — most of our students begin with little to no journalism experience and publish on our website before the semester is over. Our internship program walks you through conducting your first interview, researching an infographic or assisting in producing a video segment. Guest speakers and socials bring our interns together in an environment that melds intellectual inquiry and global immersion.
Check out our two information sessions Thursday, 8/31 @ 6pm and Friday, 9/1 @ 3pm in Annenberg (ASC) Room G24. Don’t miss our Reporting on China panel (8/31 4-5:30pm in ASC 207) featuring speakers from the L.A. Times, Asia Society, CCTV and more.
