China leaders vow Xinjiang action

The top officials in the Chinese government have stated that those responsible for the riots in Xinjiang will be “severely” punished, with participants already accused of committing murder during the riot expected to be executed. Thousands of troops are currently stationed in Urumqi, many of which who continue to separate the Han Chinese and Muslim Uighur neighborhoods. Of the 156 dead, 90% are claimed to have been of the Uighur ethnicity. --posted by Paul Kim.
