In Chinese rural districts, areas that are known for under-the-table deals between officials and unruly citizens were targeted by a new document written by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP). This document outlines specific types of corruption that should be eliminated from the Chinese government such as cover-ups and protections for criminals, election manipulation and planned riots or other actions that affect the lives of other citizens. Although the document does not mention the exact steps taken to eliminate wrongdoings by officials, it emphasizes the discouragement of government fraudulence in rural areas. (Posted by Rachel Udabe)
