The new interest in the LGBTQ market in China, specifically in cities, has led to moderate strides in the advancement of rights for the community in China. Although China’s LGBTQ community is still not fully accepted (being gay is still classified as a mental illness) gay bars and drag shows are popping up throughout large cities such as Beijing. The discovery of the market has led businesses, from game companies to subsections of Alibaba, to advertise and create new products.
